PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detecting method and a detecting device by which, if electrically conductive liquid has stuck to a point of detection, failure to accurately detect the point of detection is detected.SOLUTION: By a detecting method, a point of detection to which electrically conductive liquid may stick is detected with a detecting device having an electrically conductive contact piece, detecting means that detects electric conduction if the contact piece comes into contact with the point of detection and shifting means that shifts the detecting means. The process of detecting the point of detection to which electrically conductive liquid may stick by this method causes the detecting device to execute the steps of: shifting the contact piece in a first direction and, if the detecting means detects electric conduction, shifts the contact piece in a second direction reverse to the first direction; measuring the distance of shifting in the second direction; and determining whether or not the distance of having shifted in the second direction has reached or surpassed a prescribed length and, only when it is determined that the distance of having shifted in the second direction has reached or surpassed the prescribed length, determining that the point of detection to which electrically conductive liquid has stuck is thereby prevented from being accurately detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
