Provided is a wearable camera system that makes it possible to reduce gaps in the recording of an image including a monitoring target. The wearable camera system is provided with a wearable camera (10) that can be worn by a user and a server (72). The wearable camera (10) captures an image and transmits the result to the server (72). The server (72) stores authentication data, compares a feature of an image from the wearable camera (10) with a feature relating to the authentication data, and transmits comparison information indicating the results of comparison to the wearable camera (10). The wearable camera (10) receives the comparison information and begins recording of an image when the comparison information includes information indicating that a feature of an extracted image and the feature relating to the stored authentication data match.
