Provided is an elastic wave device that has an excellent degree of parallelism between the top surface of a sealing resin and a terminal electrode, and that is not susceptible to contact defects between the terminal electrode on a mounting substrate and a scanning electrode. An elastic wave device 1 is provided with the following: an elastic wave element 2 having a piezoelectric substrate 13 having a first primary surface 13a and a second primary surface 13b that are opposite each other, IDT electrodes 14 that are provided on the second primary surface 13b of the piezoelectric substrate 13, a support member 15 that is provided on the second primary surface 13b of the piezoelectric substrate 13 so as to surround the IDT electrodes 14 in plan view, and a cover member 16 that is provided on the support member 15 and seals in the support member 15, the piezoelectric substrate 13, and the IDT electrodes 14; a mounting substrate 3 on which the elastic wave element 2 is mounted; and a sealing resin 7 that is provided on the top surface 7a side of the mounting substrate 3, and that seals in the elastic wave element 2. The thickness of the mounting substrate 3 is smaller than the thickness measured from the surface of the sealing resin 7 in contact with the top surface of the mounting substrate 3 to the surface of the sealing resin opposite to the mounting substrate 3. |
