In this intake sand core (10), a tumble plate (22) is covered by an intake port formation part (12) and a skirt part (14). The lengthwise edges of a skirt part side-end part (26) of the tumble plate (22) are either coplanar to the end-part edge surface of the skirt part (14), or protrude from the end-part edge surface. The intake port formation part (12) of the intake sand core (10), together with an exhaust port formation part (76) of an exhaust sand core (62), is accommodated within a cylinder head cavity (60) of a casting apparatus (50). The skirt parts (14, 72) of the intake sand core (10) and the exhaust sand core (62), on the other hand, are each positioned on skirt stages (68b, 68a) of the cylinder head lower mold (52). |
