An antenna is configured to operate with circularly-polarized electromagnetic radiation in a low-frequency band and in a high-frequency band. The antenna comprises a ground plane and a radiator. The radiator comprises four pairs of radiating elements disposed as pairs of spiral segments on a cylindrical surface having a longitudinal axis orthogonal to the ground plane. Each pair of radiating elements comprises a low-frequency radiating element and a high-frequency radiating element. The low-frequency radiating element comprises a low-frequency conductive strip. The high-frequency radiating element comprises an electrically-connected series of at least one high-frequency conductive strip and at least one high-frequency capacitor. The electrical path lengths of the low-frequency radiating elements and the electrical path lengths of the high-frequency radiating elements are equal. |

a ground plane; and a radiator comprising four pairs of radiating elements, wherein:
each pair of radiating elements is disposed as a pair of spiral segments on a cylindrical surface having a longitudinal axis orthogonal to the ground plane;each pair of radiating elements comprises a low-frequency radiating element and a high-frequency radiating element, wherein:
the low-frequency radiating element has a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is electrically connected to the ground plane;the high-frequency radiating element has a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is electrically connected to the ground plane;the low-frequency radiating element has a low-frequency electrical path length between the first end of the low-frequency radiating element and the second end of the low-frequency radiating element;the high-frequency radiating element has a high-frequency electrical path length between the first end of the high-frequency radiating element and the second end of the high-frequency radiating element;the high-frequency electrical path length is equal to the low-frequency electrical path length;the low-frequency radiating element comprises a low-frequency conductive strip; andthe high-frequency radiating element comprises an electrically-connected series of at least one high-frequency conductive strip and at least one high-frequency capacitor; andthe low-frequency electrical path lengths and the high-frequency electrical path lengths of the four pairs of radiating elements are all equal. |
