PURPOSE: To obtain the subject treating agent comprising zidovudine and immunimodulator inosiplex, capable of reducing the dose while maintaining therapeutic efficacy of zidovudine, thus achieving an attendant decrease in the serious toxicity of zidovudine. CONSTITUTION: This aids-treating agent comprises (A)zidovudine: 3'-azide-3'- deoxythymidine and (B) B1 : immunimodulator inosiplex or B2 : p- acetamidobenzoic acid or B3 : inosine which is an ingredient of the component B1 in a weight ratio of (1:8) to (1:16) A:B1 or (1:10) to (1:100) A:B2 or (1:5:5) to (1:50:50) A:B2 :B3 . Thereby, it is made possible to maintain therapeutically effective plasma levels (0.45-2.25 micro mol/ml) without causing toxicity and adverse effect in patients suffering from AIDS and asymptomatic HIV- scropositive patients to which doses of 1/2 of the doses at present recommended are administered. |
