<p>PURPOSE:To improve the extraction accuracy of a variable area and to realize each hierarchy by the same processing in a hierarchical animation image segmentation system. CONSTITUTION:Variable area extractor 101 applies the threshold processing to the difference between two input images (input images 1 and 2) of the hierarchy to extract a variable area. Next, in a parameter estimating device 102, a mapping parameter from the input image 1 to the input image 2 is obtained. In a motion compensator 103, motion compensation is executed to the input image 1 based on the mapping parameter to prepare a predicted image for the input image 2. At each hierarchy, the predicted image is output as the input image 1 for the next hierarchy. At the first hierarchy, the input image is the present frame image. Further, the input image 2 is the next frame image for all hierarchies.</p> |
