<p>PURPOSE: To improve efficiency in a non-steady-state operation, especially after a change from a low load and revolution speed range to a positive load in a method for controlling the supercharging pressure of an internal combustion engine supercharged by an exhaust gas turbocharger having an adjustable turbine diffuser to a specified target value related to an operating point. CONSTITUTION: During a non-steady-state operation after a positive load change, below a specified threshold value for an exhaust gas counterpressure in the upstream side of a turbine 3, a supercharging pressure is adjusted in accordance with a first characteristic curve corresponding to the instantaneous true deviation of an actual value from a target value. After the specified threshold value for the exhaust gas counterpressure is exceeded, the exhaust gas counterpressure is adjusted by defining a hypothetical control deviation for a supercharging pressure control circuit in accordance with a special characteristic curve.</p> |
