A smart card equipped with a USB smart card reader chip is provided to monitor information stored in the smart card and update the information without using any RF(Radio Frequency) reader by performing data transmission with a general communication terminal like a PC through the USB smart card reader chip embedded in the smart card. A smart chip(10) has a contact/contactless type function. An RF antenna(20) realizes the contactless type function of the smart chip by connecting to the smart chip. The USB smart card reader chip(30) reads the information stored in the smart chip by electrically connecting to the smart chip. A USB interface(40) transceives the information for the smart chip between the communication terminal(100) and the smart chip through the USB communication by electrically connecting to the USB smart card reader chip. The smart card(2) includes an applet. The applet automatically connects the communication terminal to a homepage of a management server(300), which manages the functions embedded in the smart card, if the smart card is connected to the communication terminal. |
