PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix a brush seal easily requiring only a little space. SOLUTION: A brush seal is provided for sealing a gap between a rotary member 2 and a static member 1. A number of brush hairs 6 elastically flexible and radially extended are held in a base body 7 installed in one part at one end parts. The other end parts of the brush hairs are set to get in contact with the other circular part to have a sealing action. The brush hairs are supported by one guide plate 8 along most part of their length. The base body 7 and the guide plate 8 are installed in a groove 10 in one member. The base body 7 and the guide plate 8 are fixed to each other by a linear member 15 mortice-jointed in the groove. |
