PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain improvement in a retrieval ability by correspondently managing object information, attached information and image. SOLUTION: The attached information to the image is managed corresponding to the image together with an object unit. In this attached information, there are respective data of photographing relation, special object, category, impression, time, place, weather and event. In the photographing relation data, photographing states such as photographer and date of photographing are described and in the special object data, art objects and articles, etc., are described. In the category data, the categories of images such as scenery and figure are described and in the impression data, impressions on images are described. Besides, in the place data, the place expressed by the image is described, in the weather data, the weather such as rain or snow is described and in the event data, the data of congratulations and condolences are described respectively. Thus, when a query including the relevant information of an object unit and the attached information thereof is designated at the time of retrieval, candidate images can be highly accurately extracted.
