Method for making a composition containing suberin-rich granules by separating out the lignin content of the cork for producing cork stoppers

A process for manufacturing a composition used for producing stoppers comprises grounding sheets of cork into small sized granules which are then decomposed into granules of a high lignin content and granules with a high suberin content with the lignin rich granules being separated from the suberin rich granules in order to keep only the suberin rich granules in the composition.
