PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide drying method and device for a coating film, having a very inexpensive and simplified structure, and effectively restraining uneven wind on the coating film surface in spite of a difference in pressure between the inside and the outside of the drying device. SOLUTION: A first drying box 30a is provided with upper and lower ventilation openings 55, 57 having an opening area larger than a web running entrance 32 for passing a web 15, and upper and lower guide members 54, 56 are disposed in the peripheries of the openings, whereby a great deal of wind generated due to the differential pressure is passed through the upper and lower ventilation openings 55, 57 so that the generation of uneven wind on the coating film surface of the web 16 can be reduced. Further, a web running box 58 is disposed to cover the outer periphery of the web 16, whereby the intake wind can be prevented from directly striking on the coating film surface of the web 16.
