<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CATV system attaining high quality and high-speed communication, using a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: In the CATV system adopting the HFC transmission system, a CATV center is provided with wavelength division multiplexers; any of various relaying apparatuses for transmitting an electrical signal is provided with an optical transmitter for converting an uplink signal outputted from a terminal as an electrical signal into an optical signal with a wavelength different from the wavelength of an optical signal transmitted / received by an optical transmitter/receiver and transmitting the resulting optical signal; a closure provided with two wavelength division multiplexers is interposed in an uplink optical transmission line; the one wavelength division multiplexer is interposed in the uplink optical transmission line; and the other wavelength division multiplexer is connected to the plurality of optical transmitters by optical transmission lines, applies wavelength division multiplexing to the optical signal transmitted from the optical transmitter and is connected to the one wavelength division multiplexer, so that an optical signal subjected to wavelength division multiplexing is transmitted between the CATV center and the closure, by using the uplink optical transmission line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
