PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable device capable of performing an opening operation with good operability. SOLUTION: The device is configured so that a sliding mechanism can form a closing position in which the top surface of a first casing is covered by a second casing, a sliding standby position in which the first and second casings are relatively shifted a bit from the closing position in a closing direction, and an opening position in which the casings automatically slide from the sliding standby position and the top surface of the first casing is exposed.
