PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet processing apparatus with high reliability by efficiently executing update of sheet processing control program into a newest program at all times. SOLUTION: The sheet processing apparatus attachable to/detachable from an image forming apparatus is configured such that a flash memory provided to the sheet processing is divided into rewritable areas and rewrite disabled areas, and electric communication between the sheet processing apparatus and the image forming apparatus is executed in the rewrite disabled areas. A sheet processing control program is stored in the rewritable areas. In the case of updating the sheet processing control program, a sheet processing program write means provided to the sheet processing apparatus writes a new sheet processing control program to the rewritable areas via the rewrite disabled area, and it is characterized in that the sheet processing program write means is integrally formed to a power supply means to the sheet processing apparatus.
