PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base station capable of enhancing the estimation accuracy of the arrival direction of an uplink signal, even when the number of terminals using slots with the same frequency band and the same timing is increased. SOLUTION: In a wireless communication system wherein transmission of the uplink signal by terminals 20, whose number is an upper limit number (four) or below using the slot with the same frequency band and in the same timing is permitted, the base station includes a directivity control section 12 for controlling the directivity of a downlink signal transmitted to the respective terminals, in response to the arrival direction of the uplink signal, and a slot allocation section 13 for permitting the terminals whose permissible number (two) is smaller than the upper limit number, to use the slot and to transmit the uplink signal.
