<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an SSFBG for which there are few restrictions on the code that can be set, and the overall length of which is short. <P>SOLUTION: This SSFBG has four unit FBGs the Bragg reflection wavelengths which are λ<SB>1</SB>, λ<SB>2</SB>, λ<SB>3</SB>, λ<SB>4</SB>, disposed with a part where the unit FBGs overlap one another in the waveguide direction of the optical fiber. The left end of the horizontal axis corresponds to the position of the I/O terminal of the SSFBG, and the right end of the horizontal axis corresponds to the terminal on the side opposite from the I/O terminal of the SSFBG. The Bragg reflection wavelengths λ<SB>1</SB>, λ<SB>2</SB>, λ<SB>3</SB>, and λ<SB>4</SB>of the four unit FBGs areλ<SB>1</SB>=1,543.28 nm, λ<SB>2</SB>=1,543.60 nm, λ<SB>3</SB>=1,543.92 nm, and λ<SB>4</SB>=1,544.24 nm respectively. Codes (λ<SB>1</SB>, λ<SB>2</SB>, λ<SB>3</SB>, λ<SB>4</SB>) used in the time-spreading/wavelength hopping system are established for the SSFBG, by disposing the four unit FBGs at equal intervals, such that the interval therebetween is set at 12.8 mm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
