PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trunk piston diesel engine lubricating oil composition having a low base number, and yet having oxidation stability, viscosity increase control and improved detergency performance.SOLUTION: There is provided a low sulfur marine distillate fuel trunk piston diesel engine lubricating oil composition comprising: (1) a medium overbased detergent comprising overbased salt of linear alkyl-substituted hydroxybenzoic acid, wherein at least 90 mol% of the alkyl groups are C20 or more and, wherein the TBN of the medium overbased detergent is about 100 to 300 mgKOH/g; and (2) a high overbased detergent comprising an overbased salt of a linear alkyl-substituted hydroxybenzoic acid, wherein at least 90 mol% of the alkyl groups are C20 or more, and wherein the TBN of the high overbased detergent is higher than about 300 mgKOH/g, wherein the ratio of weight of (1) to (2) is about 0.1:1 to 10:1, and wherein the TBN of the composition is less than 30 mgKOH/g.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
