PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably prevent a device failure in a suction route caused by sucking water from a suction port in a ballast tank.SOLUTION: A gas detection device for ballast tank sucks an atmospheric gas in a ballast tank of a tanker via a suction route 10 by a suction pump 20 and detects a detection object gas by a gas detection part 30 installed in the suction route 10. If a liquid is detected by a liquid sensor 50 and/or a negative pressure occurring when a liquid is sucked into the suction route 10 is detected by a pressure sensor 60, it stops the operation of the suction pump 20 and activates a solenoid valve 90 so as to open a portion between the gas detection part 30 and the suction pump 20 in the suction route 10 to the ambient air. |
