PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To omit appearance inspection or reduce a workload imposed by the appearance inspection in a technology for bringing a grindstone with a rotating workpiece (conical roller) to perform superfinishing.SOLUTION: A processing device 10 has a rotation mechanism 30 for rotating a conical roller 7, a grindstone 11 brought into contact with the outer peripheral surface 8 of the conical roller 7, an actuator 15 for pressing the grindstone 11 to the outer peripheral surface 8, and a vibration mechanism 17 for vibrating the grindstone 11 along the outer peripheral surface 8. The rotation mechanism 30 includes a pair of rollers 28 and 29 on which the conical roller 7 is placed, motors 26 and 27 for rotating the pair of rollers 28 and 29, and detection means 35 for detecting a current value flowing through the motors 26 and 27 to detect the possibility of damages in the outer peripheral surface 8.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
