<p>The invention relates to a cutting insert (1), in particular a reversible cuttinginsert, made of hard metal or cement for machining workpieces or objects havingat least one cutting edge provided with free surface(s) and/or lateral surface(s)and at least one machining surface. According to the invention, the machiningsurface (2) and, optionally, the free surface(s) (3) are at least partially providedwith a fine structure having convex (41) and concave (42) areas in order to producea small size chip during machining in normally long-chipping materials.
