<p>Methods and compositions are provided concerned with monoclonal antibodies for human sIg-associated proteins, where the monoclonal antibodies bind to an exposed epitope of the sIg-associated protein, particularly the β chain. These antibodies, or receptors of comparable specificity, can react directly with all of the antigen receptors on B-cells without encountering inhibitory soluble target molecules in the body fluids of recipient patients. The compositions find use as diagnostics for staging B-cell maturation and as therapeutics in down-regulating expression of sIg thereby affecting survival of the target B-cells or their maturation into antibody secreting cells.</p> |
