PURPOSE: To obtain a three-dimensional image forming method for forming an arbitrary three-dimensional image on an arbitrary transfer medium, obviating the need of considering the state of preserving or handling the transfer medium after the forming of the three-dimensional image, and embodying the low running cost. CONSTITUTION: An adhesive substance 13 is transferred onto a transfer medium 1 using a thermal head 17 correspondingly to image signals. Next, a sheet 23 holding a thermally expanding agent 21 is overlapped on the surface with the adhesive substance 13 transferred, thereafter being pressed by a pressure roller 25 from the back surface thereof. The thermally expanding agent 21 adheres imagewise. Hot air blown by a hot air fan causes the thermally expanding agent 21 to thermally expand to form a three-dimensional image. |
