PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of a void at the time of developing, etc., by removing foreign matter in accordance with the pressure removing operation of a regulating blade for making toner on the roller of a developing device a thin layer, to remove the foreign matter stuck to the contact surface of the regulating blade, when the developing device is moved and retreated in each unit. SOLUTION: The developing device can be moved to obtain contact/uncontact with a photoreceptor 1 in each unit. When the unit is moved according to the pressure removing operation, from a developing state where the top end of a foreign matter removing member 30 is separated from the contact position of the regulating blade 21 with the roller 20 by a regulating spring 31, a follower 33 is guided to the cam surface of a cam 32, in accordance with the rotation of a supporting member 22, to project the foreign matter removing blade 30 to the side of the photoreceptor 1, while compressing the spring 31. The top end of the blade 30 rubs the rear side surface of the regulating blade 21 as the contact surface with the roller 20, to remove the foreign matter, etc., stuck on the rear side surface and clean it. |
