PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing device and a data transmission system where a client requests required data transmission to a server for each partial period and the server sends data corresponding to the request by utilizing 2-way communication performance of the network. SOLUTION: A server adds time information denoting a transmission time of data sent next required for consecutive reproduction to data sent to a client of a request source in response to a received data request and sends the resulting data. A difference comparator 14 calculates a difference between a reference time from a reference time clock device 15 and an arrival time of initial time information and stores the difference to a difference storage device 16. A request time calculation device 17 corrects the reference time information with a difference stored in the difference storage device 16 and when a time denoted by the reference time information comes, a succeeding data request is generated. Furthermore, the client detects that an idle capacity of a buffer memory reaches a prescribed value to generate a data transmission request.
