<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tracking error detecting circuit in which adverse influence for tracking error information caused by springing a recording signal into a reproduced signal at the time of insert recording can be eliminated almost perfectly, in a magnetic recording and reproducing device using a rotary drum of a small diameter. SOLUTION: A spring-in signal extracting and eliminating circuit 33 receives a signal obtained by operating a reproduced signal from a first rotary head in multipliers 22-25 and LPF 28-31, a pilot discriminating signal fn indicating a kind of a recording pilot signal of a scan recording track of a second rotary head, and a sampling pulse sp, after the circuit 33 extracts and holds output signals of LPF 28-31 at a point of time directly before start of scanning of a recording track leading end as a spring-in signal, subtracts a signal extracted and held from the output signals of LPF 28-31 obtained during a period in which the first rotary head scans an ITI recording part of a recording track, and outputs it to an error signal generating circuit 35.</p> |
