Process for the preparation of an elastomer modified bitumen

Producing modified bitumen by processing a premix of bitumen and an elastomeric polymer in a turbo-disintegrator without using a compatibilising agent. Process for producing bitumen modified by an elastomeric polymer, comprises forming a premix of bitumen and at least one elastomeric polymer (I) under agitation at 210-300 degrees C, and introducing the resulting premix into a mixer-reactor of the turbo-disintegrator type for a time sufficient to obtain a practially homogeneous mixture and virtually complete modification of the bitumen, the mixture containing no compatibilising agents.
