PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new protein which is produce by a membrane-bound lymphotoxin-positive lymphokine-activating killer cell, has a motif of tyrosine kinase or serine-threonine kinase, and can be used for controlling the growth/ proliferation of a cell and so on. SOLUTION: This is a new protein which has the amino acid sequence represented by the formula, or an amino acid sequence modified by deletion, addition or substitution of one or more amino acid(s) from, to, or in the amino acid sequence, is produce by a membrane-bound lymphotoxin (mLT)-positive cell (LAKmLT-positive cell) among lymphokine-activating killer cells (LAK cells), has a motif of tyrosine kinase or serine-threonine kinase, regulates the proliferation activity of a cell, and is useful as a reagent for controlling the growth/proliferation of a cell and so on. This protein is obtained by preparing a library by the subtraction at a cDNA level using mLT-positive and-negatives LAK cells prepared from human peripheral blood, cloning genes by screening the obtained library, followed by expressing the obtained gene in an expression system. |
