摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cross connector that can monitor the path of an optical signal set in the connector without affecting a service signal. SOLUTION: Service signals received at optical signal input terminals 1-1 to 1-n are given to an n×n optical switch 2 via photocouplers 6-1 to 6-n. In the n×n optical switch 2, n-sets of input ports and n-sets of output ports are optionally and selectively connected usually on the basis of a control signal from an optical path control means 4. A photocoupler 9-2 branches part of the service signal and the branched signal is given to an optical reflection means 10-2. The optical reflection means 10-2 changes the reflectance of the received optical signal in response to a signal from a monitor signal generating means 11-2. Thus, the optical signal returning again to the photocoupler 9-2 receives intensity modulation at a frequency f2 and the resulting signal is given to a photo diode 7-1 via the n×n optical switch 2 and the photocoupler 6-1.
