PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of maintaining stable and high airtightness and high displaying performance for a long period of time, and to provide a manufacturing method of the same. SOLUTION: A vacuum envelope 10 of the image display device is composed of a front panel 11 and a back panel 12 arranged in opposition, and a sealing part 40 sealing peripheral parts of the front panel and the back panel. The sealing part includes a frame 13 extended along peripheral edge parts of the front panel and the back panel, and a sealing material 32.
