PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct pin cushion distortion of a screen without degrading deflection efficiency of a deflection device. SOLUTION: A correction magnetic field generation coil 15 disposed around an opening on the large-diameter side of a horizontal deflection coil 14 has: first coil parts 151 disposed in the vicinity of the orbit of an electron beam made to scan the vicinities of opposite corners of a screen of this cathode-ray tube device for carrying a D.C. current in a direction from an electron gun toward a phosphor screen; and second coil parts 152 disposed in the vicinity of a Y axis (vertical axis) for carrying a D.C. current in a direction from the phosphor screen toward the electron gun. The currents flowing through the coil parts 151 and the coil parts 152 are independent of currents respectively flowing through a horizontal deflection coil and a vertical deflection coil.
