PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric film having excellent dielectric loss tangent and heat-resistance and suitable for semicontinuous or continuous metallizing method, a process for the production of the film and a film capacitor made of the film. SOLUTION: This dielectric polymer film is made of a polymeric material and has (1) a dielectric loss tangent of <=0.01 measured at 25 deg.C and 1kHz, (2) a tensile strength of >=5kgf/mm<2> , (3) an elongation of >=6% and (4) a softening temperature of >=100 deg.C. The film is produced by the film-forming of a resin composition containing a thermoplastic norbornene resin and a thermoplastic elastomer having an iodine value of <=50g/100g and a weight - average molecular weight (Mw) of >=100,000. The film capacitor is produced by using the dielectric polymer film having an electrode layer on at least one surface of the film. |
