A wireless communication system shown in Fig. 4 relates to a system for performing wireless communication processing between a stationary base station (101) with wireless communication function and display apparatuses (401, 402) with wireless communication function. The base station (101) has a plurality of antennas (501 and 502) each having a directional pattern in a predetermined direction. The display apparatuses (401 and 402) are set as a plurality of the communication targets which are capable of making wireless communication with the base station (101). The base station (101) performs identification processing of the communication-targeted display apparatuses (401 and 402) or the like located within a communication area created by each of the directional patterns of the antennas (501 and 502); storage processing of a correspondence relationship between each of the communication-targeted display apparatuses (401 and 402) or the like and each of the antennas (501 and 502); and at the time of making wireless communication, performs selection processing of an antenna (501 or 502) which corresponds to the pertinent display apparatus (401 or 402) etc. based on the antenna selection information. <IMAGE>
