摘要 A medical device (100) comprises chamber(s) (110) containing a bed of an agent; a unit for providing first conditions; and a unit for changing first conditions to second conditions. The device is configured to, during a charging phase, extract oxygen from air by, under first conditions, bringing air into contact with agent constituted by a reversibly oxygen-fixating agent, such that oxygen is adsorbed by agent, and to remove nitrogen under first conditions; and configured to, during a discharging phase, release oxygen from agent by change of first conditions to second conditions. A medical device (100) for producing oxygen comprises at least one chamber (110) arranged to contain a bed of agent, each having an air inlet (112) and a nitrogen outlet (114); a unit for providing first conditions, and a unit for changing the first conditions to second conditions. The device is configured to, during a charging phase, extract oxygen from air by, under the first conditions, bringing the air into contact with the agent constituted by a reversibly oxygen-fixating agent, i.e. an oxygen selective material, such that the oxygen of the air is adsorbed by the agent; and to remove nitrogen under the first conditions, and configured to, during a discharging phase, release the oxygen from the agent by means of changing the first conditions to the second conditions. The unit for providing first conditions comprises pressurizing device (e.g. compressor or fan) (116) and/or cooling device; and the unit for changing the first conditions to second conditions comprises depressurizing device (e.g. vacuum pump) (122) and/or heating device. An independent claim is included for producing oxygen involving during a charging phase, extracting oxygen from air by, under first conditions, bringing the air into contact with an agent constituted by a reversibly oxygen-fixating agent/adsorbent, i.e. an oxygen selective material, such that the oxygen of the air is adsorbed by the agent; and removing the nitrogen of the air; and during a discharging phase, releasing the adsorbed oxygen by controlled change of the conditions to second conditions.
