PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide porous titanium having a small contact resistance, and a method for producing the same.

SOLUTION: The porous titanium having the small contact resistance comprises continuous holes 1 that open on the surface and continue to inner holes and a skeleton 2. On at least a skeleton outer surface 4 of the porous titanium, particles 5 comprising Au or Pt are dispersed and fixed through diffusion bonding 6. Oxidized layers 3 are formed in gaps between the particles 5 comprising Au or Pt that are fixed onto at least the skeleton outer surface 4.
