SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGEMENT OF MEASURING INSTRUMENT BASED ON RFID

A system and a method for managing meters based on RFID are provided to enhance reliability, efficiency, and productivity, and save cost by efficiently managing and harmoniously maintaining various kinds of meters based on the RFID. A fixed RFID reader(10) performs a read/write function by recognizing tag information from an RFID tag attached to the various kinds of meters such as a power meter. Middleware(30) collects, controls, and manages the tag information from the fixed RFID reader. A meter management server(40) determines usage or storage by verifying and checking validity of the collected tag information. A client PC(50) inquires the information of the various kinds of meters by connecting to the meter management server in a remote place. The fixed reader includes an RF module wireless communicating with the RFID tag attached to the meters through an antenna, a base band processor, an FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array), a DSP(Digital Signal Processor), a memory, a LAN(Local Area Network) module, a serial communicator, and a JTAG(Joint Test Action Group).
