The seal has an edge connection formed by connection of two seal ends (4,5). The seal ends are sliced on miter, and are interconnected. The connection of the seal ends is formed at or on melted thermoplastic foil (6) that is again solidified. The seal is made of a flexible material, particularly of ethylene propylene diene rubber, polyalkylene, particularly polyethylene or polypropylene, polyimide, polytetrafluoroethylene, polyvinylidene fluoride, or from rubber, particularly acrylnitrile butadiene rubber, polyester urethane rubber or silicone rubber. INDEPEDNENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a method for manufacturing a seal, which involves selecting material for thermoplastic foil from thermoplastic elastomer of olefin base, a thermoplastic elastomer on base of a copolyester, a thermoplastic elastomer on base of a copolyamide or a thermoplastic elastomer on base of a styrene block copolymer; and (2) a device for manufacturing a seal.
