PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal-air battery capable of preventing a state where a positive electrode is immersed in an electrolyte, and capable of continuously supplying oxygen in atmospheric air to the positive electrode.SOLUTION: A metal-air battery 1A is formed from a container 10, an electrolytic part 12A, a positive electrode 14 and a negative electrode 16, and the container 10 is made of plastic. A part of a side face of the container 10 is formed from sheet-like active carbon 17 and defined as the positive electrode 14, and a front side face 18 of the positive electrode 14 is defined as an exposure surface that is exposed in atmospheric air. Sheet-like magnesium inserted into the container 10 is defined as the negative electrode 16, and sodium polyacrylate which is brought into gel-state by absorbing moisture is accommodated in the container 10 and defined as the electrolytic part 12A. The quantity of moisture being absorbed by the sodium polyacrylate of the electrolytic part 12A is set to such a quantity that moisture is not leaked from the sodium polyacrylate to the outside without applying a pressure or the like from the outside to sodium polyacrylate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
