1. An asymmetric supercapacitor comprising:
a first electrode comprising a first active material and having a first operating window, wherein the first active material comprises a material selected from the group consisting of a metal oxynitride, a metal oxycarbide, a metal oxyboride, and combinations thereof, and the metal is selected from the group consisting of Groups III, IV, V, VI, or VII of the Periodic Table; a second electrode comprising a second active material and having a second operating window, wherein the first and second operating windows overlap by 0%, based on voltage; a separator disposed between the first and second electrodes; and an aqueous electrolyte. |
