摘要 A Unified Speech and Audio Codec (USAC) that may process a window sequence based on mode switching is provided. The USAC may perform encoding or decoding by overlapping between frames based on a folding point when mode switching occurs. The USAC may process different window sequences for each situation to perform encoding or decoding, and thereby may improve a coding efficiency.

A encoding method for Unified Speech and Audio Codec (USAC), comprising: determining a Linear Prediction Domain (LPD) mode of a previous sub-frame and an LPD mode of a next sub-frame of an input signal with respect to a current sub-frame of the input signal; and encoding the input signal by applying a window to the current sub-frame based on the LPD mode of the previous sub-frame and the LPD of the next sub-frame according to a value of the LPD mode of the previous sub-frame and a value of the LPD mode of the next sub-frame, wherein a size or a shape of an overlap-added region corresponding to a previous sub-frame or a next sub-frame in the window is changed based on the LPD mode of the previous sub-frame or the LPD mode of the next sub-frame.
