PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic display device that suppresses a deterioration in contrast.SOLUTION: An electrophoretic display device 1 comprises: a first substrate 2 on which a pixel electrode 13 is installed; a second substrate 3 that faces the first substrate 2 and on which a common electrode 21 is installed; a partition wall part 5 that is located between the first substrate 2 and the second substrate 3 to divide a pixel area 6 and has conductivity; and an electrophoretic dispersion liquid 14 that is charged in the pixel area 6 and contains a dispersion medium 17, white charge particles 15, and black charge particles 16. The electrophoretic display device 1 applies voltage to the partition wall part 5 to peel off the black charge particles 16 attached to the partition wall part 5 from the partition wall part 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
