<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recording medium, which has a high gloss and an enough ink absorbency equal to those of a photographic paper employed to a silver salt photography even under small coating amount and, further, suppresses the development of cockling (corrugation in a printing part) and is excellent in the reproducibility of image quality. <P>SOLUTION: In the ink jet recording medium manufactured by applying a cast processing onto an underlayer and an upper layer at least provided on a gas permeable support, the support is mainly made of wood pulp and a filler under the condition that the content of the filler in the support is 5-30 mass%, the underlayer is made of a coating composition including a water absorbing inorganic pigment, a latex and boric acid or its salt and, at the same time, the upper layer is made of a coating composition including a submicron pigment and polyvinyl alcohol. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
