摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion capacitor that has high energy density and output density, a high withstand voltage, and high durability. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium ion capacitor has a positive electrode made of a substance capable of carrying lithium ions and/or anions reversibly, and a negative electrode made of a substance capable of carrying lithium ions reversibly; and has an aprotic organic solvent electrolyte solution of lithium salts as an electrolyte. In the lithium ion capacitor, a negative electrode active substance is a hardly graphitizable carbon material, where the ratio of the number of hydrogen atoms to that of carbon atoms is equal to 0 or higher and less than 0.05 (a); and the negative electrode and/or the positive electrode are doped with lithium ions so that the potential of the negative electrode becomes 0.15 V or smaller for the lithium metal potential, when it is discharged to half the charge voltage of the cell (b). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
