PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light receiving device for spatial optical communication capable of keeping power consumption small.

SOLUTION: The light receiving device for spatial optical communication is provided with a plurality of basic cells 2 each combining a light receiving element for receiving a light from a light sending device and an electric circuit unit for outputting an electric signal when the light receiving element receives the light as a pair, and these plurality of basic cells 2 are arranged in a matrix state. Each of the basic cells 2 has a function in which the basic cells 2 themselves determine whether or not the light receiving element receives the light.
