摘要 This sensor for detecting the thickness of paper sheets has: an oscillator for outputting a high-frequency signal having a frequency that corresponds to a position in the horizontal direction that intersects with the direction in which a paper sheet is conveyed; a signal electrode for applying the high-frequency signal that is outputted by the oscillator; a plurality of detection electrodes disposed on both sides along the paper sheet conveying path in relation to the signal electrode , the plurality of detection electrodes individually detecting detection signals corresponding to the position; a plurality of resonance circuits individually having one end connected to the respective other end of the plurality of detection electrodes, the plurality of resonance circuits having a resonance frequency that is equal to the frequency allocated to the position; and a broadband amplifier to which the other ends of the plurality of resonance circuits are connected, the broadband amplifier outputting the output of the plurality of resonance circuits as one item of sensor output information. It is thereby possible to provide a device for differentiating banknotes and a paper-sheet-thickness sensor provided with improved resolution capability for detecting the thickness of paper sheets while keeping the costs for materials and the manufacturing costs for wiring low.
