PURPOSE:To reduce deterioration of sensitivity and to effectively restrain occurrence of development fog by executing development processing in the presence of a specified compound. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide photographic sensitive material having at least one surface latent image type silver halide emulsion layer on a support is developed in the presence of the compound represented by formula I in which Q is an atomic group necessary to form a 5- or 6-membered hetero ring optionally condensed with an aromatic hydrocarbon ring or hetero ring; X is a divalent linking group having an atom, such as C or N; A is a linking group having an alkylene or alkenylene group or the like; B is an amino group or a N- containing hetero ring; M is H, an alkali metal, or ammonium; m is 1 or 2; and n is 0 or 1, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive material to be lessened in deterioration of sensitivity, and restrained from occurrence of development fog.
