Material allowing detection of buried persons or objects by means of a low-field nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer. It is characterised in that it is in the form of a flexible sheet 1, based on a non-magnetic material, enclosing a plurality of permanent magnets 2, which are distributed, at regular spaces, inside the said sheet 1, the said magnets 2 all being directed in the same sense, and their pole faces being parallel to the surfaces of the sheet 1. <IMAGE>
