PURPOSE:To provide a new negative electrode active material with high capacity by dispersing gallium oxide or its mixture with other metal oxide in a carbon material, and reducing the dispersed material to obtain powder, kneading the powder obtained with an organic polymer to form a sheet. CONSTITUTION:Carbon material of 70-10wt.% is added to 30-90wt.% Ga2O3 crushed in 150mum or less, and they are mixed with a suitable amount of alcohol or water, the mixture is dried, then reduced in a reducing atmosphere at 600 deg.C or higher to obtain the powder in which liquid gallium is dispersed in the carbon material. The powder obtained is crushed, and 0.1-0.3ml/g of polytetrafluoroethylene solution is added to the powder and they are kneaded with alcohol, dried, then rolled in a 0.1-1mm thick sheet. The problem caused by the liquefaction of gallium of an electrode material is solved. A mixture of Ga2O3 with 0-30wt.% other metal oxide is preferably used in place of Ga2O3. A negative electrode material made of a sheet is press-bonded to a metal net and preferably used as an electrode. |
