A method for manufacturing of magnesia-carbon refractories comprises preparation of a mass, comprising MgO, crystal graphite, antioxidant, liquid and powder-like phenol-formaldehyde resin, urotropin, and silicon-organic substance by mixing of grain MgO fraction with liquid phenol-formaldehyde resin, followed by stage-by-stage introduction and mixing of them with other components, formation of articles by pressing and thermal treatment at law temperature. Before introduction into mass graphite should be modified with silicon-organic substance. Pressed articles are thermal treated at 180-200 DEGREE C during 6-10 hours. The method provides obtaining of articles having improved density and toughness.
